Two small groups of Portland friends and makers got together to save a derelict 1911 building from the developer's wrecking ball; converting it into working studios with offices above. On a modest budget, the exterior received a new aluminum storefront, new black painted wood siding, a new tile base, and additional windows and skylights to improve daylighting. The interior was cleaned up and reconfigured to provide a new shared bathroom and kitchen, with a small courtyard carved out in back.
